The First Canadian Collectors Club started out as the First Canadian Bottle and Specialties Club with its first meeting held on March 24th, 1970 with ten founding members. Monthly meetings were held at various locations until settling at the Fort Calgary Interpretive Centre in early 1980. In January 1993, the name of the club was changed to its present name to more closely reflect the rich and diverse nature of the member’s collections.
The Club was established as a nonprofit group for all types of collectors. Its purpose is to create a desire to study, research, discuss and to encourage an interest in the collection and preservation of antiques and nostalgia.
Club meetings are held at Fort Calgary, 750 – 9th Avenue SE, the second Monday of each month at 7:30 pm except in October when the meeting is held on the third Monday and excluding July and August.
The club sponsors an Antique and Collectibles Show and Sale twice a year and we encourage anyone with similar interests to join us for the camaraderie and the exchange of ideas about collecting.
